Leading multimedia messaging company Saturn Communications announces Connectvision Enterprise for corporate digital signage within a single building and across multiple sites. The HD and Vista Ready software is graphically enhanced using Microsoft’s Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), enabling multiple screen windows operating independently. This allows information from a variety of digital sources to be presented on a single screen and automatically up-dated in real-time.
Effective corporate communications is becoming increasingly demanding as companies seek to reach employees with corporate and business specific information in a wide range of working environments and locations. Connectvision Enterprise bridges the gap between screen-based communications and business processes and systems. Screen content can be zoned and scheduled to appear on screens anywhere at any time, creating a communications channel that is both impactful and relevant.
For the first time, corporate and business communications workflow can now be integrated within company-wide digital signage communications, using Connectvision Enterprise. It allows multiple authors with different levels of permissions to add content to different screens and area of screens in a prescriptive manner consistent with corporate communications guidelines.
Scalable and Engaging Digital Signage
Connectvision Enterprise is highly configurable and scalable, using Microsoft PC networks. It allows corporate communication to be segmented such that messages can be customised for specific business groups or environments. The same systems can be used to distribute different communications messages to reception area screens, sales teams, customer call centre and warehouse and logistics operations. Each business area's messages are highly relevant and easily updated, presenting information in a manner designed to engage employees.
Ease of use and content management are fundamental to the way in which Connectvision Enterprise is deployed. It allows users to draw on a wide variety of image formats and multimedia file types such as jpeg, avi, mov, digital video, PowerPoint Files, and HTML Web Pages. In addition, the software allows information from 'live' feeds from the Internet, business systems and Intranet and IP TV to be included in the screen content.
The Connectvision Enterprise authoring software serves the dual purpose of allowing users to both design and distribute content as well as controlling the operation of groups of display computers. In addition the software includes a number of templates covering the most common tasks and allowing users to quickly generate content by simply dragging files into the relevant parts of the template. New templates can be easily produced.
“Connectvision Enterprise is a powerful way for companies to engage their employees. The software is intuitive, allowing communications staff to quickly begin using multimedia messaging to improve business information distribution and motivate personnel,” Chris Welsh, managing director, Saturn Communications.
Connectvision Enterprise is the latest version of the successful Connectvision multimedia messaging system which has a proven track record and rapidly expanding blue-chip client base including British Gas, BT, Deloitte, Ernst & Young, IBM, Thomson and Volkswagen.
Swarming Digital Signage
Connectvision Enterprise uses 'swarming' technology to cut the bandwidth requirements on corporate networks, increasing the scope for multimedia digital signage and data integration with real-time data sources. Swarming technology means that bandwidth intensive downloads such as presentations and movies can be transferred between local computer, like a P2P network, rather than over the corporate network. Furthermore, it is now possible to have as many individually addressable, screen segments as needed, enabling greater customisation of individual screens.
'Live' Digital Signage
The software's data integration facility allows real-time data from constantly changing data such as call statistics, order and market information to be automatically captured and presented on screen. The software “listens” to the information flow and when required displays the most recent data. Similarly, with increasing use of RSS data feeds, Connectvision Enterprise is able to capture, format and display this data and apply a filter, for example, displaying only RSS traffic news relevant to the local area and not just “blanket coverage”.
“Connectvision Enterprise takes digital signage to the next level. It gives companies the tools they need to engage and motivate employees. By combining the latest developments in graphics and networking technology, it creates a communication channel that is highly relevant to the workplace and is proven to increase morale and productivity,” Chris Welsh said.
