Co-operative Financial Services (CFS) is using an innovative multimedia messaging system for communicating and engaging with employees at its Miller Street office and call centre in Manchester. The Connectvision Enterprise system allows CFS to create an internal, multi-screen communications channel showing a range of Co-op and CFS news, sales performance, management information, training material, blogs and news, across all or specific screens to suit the intended audience.
Co-operative Financial Services (CFS) comprises Co-operative Insurance (CIS), and The Co-operative Bank including the Internet-based 'smile'. Financial and insurance services are increasingly complex markets where staff need to be kept up-to-date with the latest legal and business requirements. “We were looking for a common communications channel that works well in the dynamic environment of a call centre but also in reception and communal areas where the communications requirements are very different. Connectvision has a proven track record of significantly improving employee communication in similar working environments where it compliments traditional methods of communication such as posters and team briefings,” commented the internal communications manager at CFS.
Developed by Saturn Communications Group, Connectvision will broadcast information to 25, large 42” LCD displays throughout the Miller St building. Ease of use and content management are fundamental to the way in which Connectvision Enterprise is deployed by CFS. It enables CFS to draw on a wide variety of image formats and multimedia file types such as jpeg, avi, mov, digital video, PowerPoint Files, and HTML Web Pages. In addition, the software allows information from 'live' feeds from the Internet, business systems and Intranet and IPTV to be included in the screen content.
In this instance, the Connectvision screen is split into three areas. The larger area is used for scheduled video, corporate and training information while the two remaining areas allow 'live' information and news feeds to be presented. The software is designed to automatically capture real-time data such as telephone response times and sales data.
“Connectvision is allowing us to assess the potential of multimedia messaging for developing the CFS business, brand and our employees. With such a powerful communication channel we want to ensure we are able to maximise the benefits across the business,” said an Internal Communications representative.
