Saturn Communications Group is combining Connectvision digital signage software with its leading edge, screensaver technology to deliver Digital Signage 2.0. For the first time, organisations are able to compliment their digital signage with desktop screensaver content that users can interact with. In so doing it provides a means of enhancing and reinforcing digital signage based employee communications.
The Connectvision Screensaver harnesses the latent potential of existing desktop PCs and monitors, through targeted and scheduled screensavers, providing a powerful and inexpensive desktop communication channel. With the latest screensaver technology development, users can now play the screensaver and interact with it, including accessing links to intranet and internet content, movie, flash and image files.
It allows dynamic rich multimedia content to be targeted to individual groups of PCs to inform, educate and engage with many potential audiences at different times during each day. Whenever any PC goes into screensaver mode, the latest centrally controlled multimedia messages are displayed as a customised dynamic looping sequence. The degree to which users interact with the screensaver can be tracked centrally, allowing the communications channel to used for e-learning, and continuous professional development.
According to Saturn Communications Group sales director, Joe Till, Connectvision and its Screensaver takes digital signage to the next level. “Until now Digital Signage 2.0 has been largely aspirational. No more; we believe Connectvision offers the degree of interactivity to provide that organisations have been looking for to maximise the benefits of digital signage in employee communications and stakeholder engagement,” he said.
Connectvision is the employee communications channel of choice for many of the UK largest organisations. Highly configurable and scalable, it allows a wide variety of digital content to be distributed to large screens via Microsoft PC networks.
It allows corporate communications to be segmented, such that, messages can be customised for specific departments, teams or business units. The same systems can be used to distribute different communications messages to reception areas, public areas and restaurant screens. Each area can be sent specific messages which are highly relevant and easily updated, presenting information in a manner designed to engage with its audience.
